I've been a college dropout. I've been a telephone repairman. I've seen the world in the Navy. I've written and produced radio and T.V. commercials. I've played guitar and sang in topless clubs.I've painted water towers. I've been a folk singer and a songwriter. I lived in a penthouse in Manhattan. I sang disco. I pulled "all-nighters" with Tommy McDonnell, watching the sun come up on City Island. I've had "sluggy eggs", and shared the stage with a rubber chicken named "Chaplin". I got drunk at the world-famous P.J. Clarke's AND The Blue Angel. I lived over an Irish bar named Flannagan's on First Avenue. I rode N.Y. City subways to go to work. I was a rock singer. I've been featured in Modern Screen Magazine on the same page as Elvis. I lived on the top floor of a six-story brownstone. I've been a blues singer. I owned a bus and toured all over the country. I've been a carpenter. I played with Gregg Allman. I'm a published poet. I was a country singer. I survived "tequila nights" with Peter and Jimmy Bennett, and lived to talk about it. I've been to L.A., believe me - it ain't all that...
I've been "road tested", and eaten at the best truck stops. I cut a record. I've had moonshine. I sang with Hank Williams Jr.. I've laid tile. I backed up male reviews. I ALWAYS knew The Lone Star Cafe's "Boxcar Joe Laing" had talent, just never knew how MUCH... I've sung and played at coliseums and redneck bars. I've shared the stage with the "legendary" Bo Diddley. I got drunk with Ace Frehley of KISS. I saw The Beatles AND The Doors "LIVE". I've played with B.B. King and James Cotton. I got a $100 tip from John Belushi's wife, Judy, for playing "Hey Bartender", and dedicating it to him... not knowing she was in the audience. I've done radio interviews. I got to sing a Delbert McClinton song TO Delbert McClinton, at The Lone Star Cafe, in NYC. I've seen my name up in lights at "The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar", in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I've actually BEEN to Bismarck, North Dakota, and there IS no "Ancient Order Of Raccoons Cemetery" there. I've got friends from every walk of life. I could have been a great "stand-up" comedian. I've always had an eye for the unusual, and have seen life through the same eyes as George Carlin. I've been a character all my life, as well as a good friend. Loyalty and compassion are what life is all about, without them your life is meaningless. After 25 years, I finally know the joy of finding my best friend, Richie Harrington, the only person who could make me laugh till I cried...
Besides being a photographer, I am a “Lover of LIFE”, and try to enjoy every moment of it. I know the heartbreak and pain of losing a beautiful baby girl before my very eyes, and cried tears of joy when I became a "Daddy" of a beautiful baby boy, at 52. I have a wonderful wife who taught me that "dreams really DO come true"... and oh yeah, I survived open-heart surgery 3 years ago (a triple by-pass) as well as two “cardio-conversions”, and now at 61, I'M SINGIN' AGAIN! As a proud and committed “PARROTHEAD” I now spread the music of my favorite “Tropical Troubador”, JIMMY BUFFETT, everywhere I go. I am the luckiest man I know…
